As a Wedding Planner/Manager; some of my brides ask me for some new ideas about decorating the church pews and aisle. Bows are old and worn out. But first, make sure that you know the church's policy on what can or can't be attached to the pews. Whatever decorations you select should not scratch the wood or leave tape residue behind. Respect for the church's furniture should be a major concern. If it is permitted, some brides will want to decorate every pew. If that is your wish, consider smaller arrangements and/or items. Other brides will want to decorate every other or every third pew. In that case, arrangements can be somewhat larger. For those brides who wish decorations on only the last, the first and the pew that marks the beginning of the family sections, consider even more elaborate combinations of flowers, ribbons, greenery or metallics. Rely on your florist or friends to decorate special pews with small bouquets or fill paper cones with flower petals and hang on the pews. Someone from the bridal party can collect and distribute them to guests to shower you after the ceremony. Seasonal things - pumpkins in the fall, potted trees in the winter, colorful paper fans in the summer, blooming potted lilies in the spring, can add the perfect touch. When chairs are used rather than pews, ribbons can be woven through their backs, picking up the color scheme of the wedding. For more ideas please call or email me.
