Where are all the bridal shops?

Hello ladies; i have done some research on local bridal shops and although Glamour Bridal has closed and Vera's House of Bridals has retreated to Janesville that does not mean we all have to go on a pilgramage to Chicago.  I have found some alternatives to Chi-town. 

For instance; i have heard alot of good things about Veils and Tails in Clinton, Wisconsin.  They have a great selection, Tuxedos for the guys and so much more.  Please make sure to make an appointment, so that they can devote as much time as they can to cater to your every need.  Call (608)676-5277 or go to their website.

Stitch-n-time Bridal Boutique in Woodstock, started out as an alterations shop and grew from there.  To make an appointment call 337-4444.

Kathryn's Bridal and Dress Shop is located in Mchenry.  Although she is new in the business she has a very wide selection to choose from and also a Tea room where you can have an intimate party with your maids or your flower girls.  Call 385-7330 for an appointment.

I just happend upon this listing on the web so i am not too sure if it is open or not; Crystal Bridal in Rochelle.  Here is the phone number just in case you want to try them out 562-8065.

Sara Grace is located in the Edgebrook mall on North Alpine Road.  She has a small shop, but she can do rush orders.  Call 398-9896 to make an appointment.

Castronovo's Bridal is still open as far as i know.  The people i have talked to claims they are.  Call 962-4731 for more information.

  Hello ladies; i met Ilona, of Catch Me A Catch, at Mary's Market the other day.  She is a lovely lady who loves to match up singles with each other.  So if your mother, sister, bridesmaid, brother, or anyone else needs a date; then i suggest giving Ilona a call at 289-4505.

Nice to see all of you at the Expo

It was so nice to see all of you at the Expo.  I expressly arrived early to setup my table so that i wasn't rushed and i ended up talking to my vendors instead!  I had missed them during the break.  But no harm done, i setup my table in time.  Beverly, fromTinker Cottage shared my table again, it was so nice to see her again also.  I really liked having the Expo at Giovanni's, there was much more room for everyone to move around and the staff was so accommodating and professional, everything moved very smoothly (i knew they would be, they are one of my favorite vendors).

Beth from Costa Confections stopped by to say hi and she gave me a couple of samples to try out:  Pink Champagne and Jasmine.  Yum, yum.  If you go to her store ask to try them.

 

It looked like there were more vendors this year than last year.  The only complaint that i have to make is it was hard to talk to some of the brides because there were so many people talking at the same time.  It seems we were a victim of success.  Ryan Nelson, of           Sound Productions stopped by to say hi and Dewey, of Celebrations DJ Service was in the table next to mine.  Roy Garcia, of Bella Rose also stopped by to say hi and give me a hug.

The fashion show was great as always, the dresses were stunning!  I was stunned to learn that Glamour Bridal had gone out of business and there was buzz around the Expo that possibly Castronovo's had closed also.  I will be looking into that and keep you updated.  I have to say i am a little puzzled by this development, maybe you can fill me in ladies.  Are all of you going to Janesville and Chicago to get your dresses?  It's more expensive to go there than to buy your dress here.  Could some of you clue Mrs. C in on the reasons you go somewhere else?

 

Riley O' Neil and Liz Wilder did a fantastic job as always.  I have to say i wish that i could get free dresses to wear at the Expo.  Liz Wilder always gets to wear such beautiful gowns.  Well i have to go now, this is Mrs. C signing off.  If you have any questions please email or call.

More Vendors You Should Know

  Our first spotlight will be on Pinehill Inn.  The Inn was built in 1874, located in Oregon.  Mr. & Mrs. Williams invite you to have your wedding and reception at their beautiful inn.  They have a 40 X 60 high peak Euro tent that will fit 200 people.  You can use your caterer or theirs with your wedding package.  Just call (800)851-0131.

 

Our second spotlight will be on Event Floral.  Deb Quillen, owner has worked with over 2,000 brides and has a great reputation for providing superior quality and service.  They offer delivery, setup and re-delivery to your reception venue.  And having worked with them I can say they will go they extra mile to make your floral wishes come true.  Just call 885-3900.

Our third spotlight is onMidway Village and Museum Center.  They several areas to have your wedding and reception and the staff is wonderful.  Make sure you talk to Fran when you call.  Location one is the Community Church, which was built in 1883 and can seat 90 comfortably.  One warning about the church, there is no air conditioning.  Location two is the Chamberlain Hotel, which was built in 1860 and can seat 40, just right for a bridal shower.  Location three is the Gazebo, which is ideal for an outdoor wedding ceremony and you can seat as many as you like. And the Fourth and last location is The Lakeview Room which can seat 250.
