  • Gregory Peck: To Kill A Mockingbird
"Stand up Jean Louise, your father is passin'..." (*****)
  • Charlton Heston and Yul Brynner: The Ten Commandments
Classic! Overlook the fake beard and focus on the message. (*****)
  • Cary Elwes and Mandy Patinkin: The Princess Bride
There is sword play and two swear words to get the PG rating. Get past that and the whole movie is delightful. (*****)
  • Keisha Castle-Hughes and Oscar Isaac: The Nativity Story
This is great! To see the human side of Mary and Joseph is awe inspiring. (*****)
  • : The Chronicles of Narnia
(Disney) I'm sorry, i have to say i was a little disappointed in this film. After having seen "The Fellowship of the Ring" I felt a little let down. I watched an animated version a while ago that made me more emotional than this film. (***)
  • Errol Flynn, Olivia DeHavilland: The Adventures of Robin Hood
Just treat your entire family with this gem (*****)
  • Amy Adams and Patrick Dempsey: Enchanted
Overlook that this is Disney (i have a few issues with Disney) and see the delightful performance of Amy Adams. (***)

Christmas Jars-desert  I wanted to recommend the book "Christmas Jars" by Jason Wright.  This is a wonderful warm story that centers on Hope Jensen an aspiring newspaper reporter, that on one Christmas Eve was robbed and receives an annonymous Christmas gift that she is determined to discover who left her that gift.

It is only $7.95 on Amazon right now.  If you are looking for a stocking stuffer or gift with meaning i highly recommend this book.

There's Nothing Left For You To Do

The battle is won-desert I have been re-reading passages from "Living Free In Christ" by Neil Anderson.  I really needed to remind myself of everything that the Lord Jesus has already done for me, for every christian.  With all of the false teaching lately it has been very confusing for some christians, especially the "new" or "baby" christians out there.  If you are newly saved i suggest reading this book, it has been very helpful to me, along with the bible (of course).  I have been reading pages 40 & 41.  Take a look:

Many christians fear the prospect of facing an angry God.  Knowing that He is holy and we are sinful.  They haven't grasped the fact that we have already been justified.  The Greek language makes the concept of our justification very clear.  Because of the presicison of the verbs, the language is explicit in describing when something has already been done (past tense), is being done (present tense), will be done (future tense), or is a continuous action.  Romans 5:1, it clearly says we have already been justified before a Holy Father, Jesus has already paid the penalty for our sins, establishing our peace with God the Father.

When something has already been done, there is nothing left for you to do.  Many christians try desperately to become something they already are while the Bible declares that you cannot do for yourself what has already been done for you by Christ.  The enemy's lie is that you must atone for your sin by works of some kind and thereby prove your love for God.  The occult and non-christian religions teach that.

So there is nothing that we really need to do.  I love that!!!  What do you think?  Have you been believing the lie that you must do something to make up for all of the things that you have done wrong?

What the...?

I was reading one of a dozen blogs and news sites that i scan every day and came upon PJ Miller at Sola and read his post about an evangelist who tried to talk some sense into a long line of people who claim to be christians waiting to see the false teacher Todd Bentley.  Please pray for this man and anyone else who are brave enough to talk against the false teachers out there.  And pray for the people who are being led astray by these horrible men.  This is so heart breaking  more...
